Marshall JCM 2000

Wow it has been a long time! I kept going "I am going to blog today" but I never did. So if you read the older post you know I have been looking for an amp. And I am excited to say that about 4 weeks ago I got an amp!! I got the Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100 half stack. It is, in my opinion, an amazing amp!! I love it so much!!!! I have found so many amazing sounds in the amp!!! I got it from Guitar Center and for an amazing price! I would highly recommend going to Guitar Center to get any gear!! I am all ready starting to save up for a guitar! Right now I want a Fender Strat or Tele. I think I might get a few pedals then get a guitar.

I think I have found it?

Last time I went to Guitar Center I played on the amp that might be the one. The Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100! It was just amazing! I played it using a Les Paul. Wow! It was awesome! I had a great time playing it. I could get a clean tone, which was nice. I want to try the amp with my pedals. I can also get a rock, hard rock, crunch, classic rock, and heavy stuff. Everything I want! It also looked beast! All I need to do is save the money. It has been hard and is going to take a long time, but it is worth it! I cannot wait till I get it!!! It is going to be awesome! So. . .  guitars! I played on a tele and I surprisingly liked it! It was different, but pretty cool!! I played on an SG! I love those guitars! They are just beast! I played on a few Les Pauls, which are amazing! Love those guitars! I played on a Fender Road worn strat. Looked really cool. It was not bad, but if I got a strat I would want to make it road worn from playing on it. Not getting a guitar that just looks road worn. But they were fun to play on.

Rock On!

Guitars and Amps

I have been trying to blog, but I have been busy. So last time I went to Guitar Center I tried out a few fender amps and a few Marshalls. I liked the fenders, but might be too clean. I mean I thought it sounded good, smaller than the Marshall, and sounded really good with a strat (I suprsingly loved playing on the strat), but not the sound that I am looking for. If I could not get a Marshall I probably would get a Fender. So I tried out a Marshall Haze amp. It was not bad. It was hard to play on because it was placed in a weird position so I could not play will all the knobs. The other Marshall was the Vintage Modern! Might be my fav amp! Too expensive, but still awesome. They had a Gibson Les Paul Traditional that I played on through the Marshall Vintage Modern. And WOW DID IT SOUND AMAZING!!! I had so much fun playing the Les Paul! It has been one of my dream guitars for a long time, and I got to play on it! So beast! Well I am doing really good saving up my money for an amp. Hopefully I will have enough money by the beginning of the Fall!

Birthday

Last Friday, July 3rd, was my Birthday! We just came back from vacation the day before. So instead of my Family going out picking up presents and wrapping them up, they just took me out on my Birthday to pick out stuff. So I picked the best store to shop in... Guitar Center! While I was there I picked up a strap! I have been needing one. I really like my new strap. I played on two Marshalls.  I actually saw the one I am looking at! I did not play on it, because it was up on display. It looked amazing!! I played on a bunch of epic guitars! The two Marshalls I played on were the Vintage Modern, which I love and it may be my favorite! But, way to expensive. I played on another little Marshall. It was just a little combo amp. It was not my favorite, but I was playing on a bunch of guitars so I was fine for trying out guitars.  I have been saving up money for the amp I am now half way there! I am really excited!!!

Let's Rock!

Yesterday I went to Guitar Center and I saw this guy Chris, who has been helping me out alot and is a super nice guy. We were talking, and he said they were going to move some guitars around and wanted to know if I wanted to play on any of them. So of course I was like "Sure!!". So he walked me over to the area, and it was a bunch of NICE/OLD used guitars. He asked me if there was one that I wanted to play, and I told him I did not really care. They are all amazing! So he brought down an Original 1965 Gibson SG Jr. I think they said it was a Les Paul, but it looked like an SG. He told me why, but I don't really remember. The guitar was flat out amazing. It had some scratches and bruises, but that just made it even cooler! So after staring in awe, we plugged into a Marshall half stack, and it sounded amazing! One of the best guitars I have played on! Guitar Center really went above and beyond. I mean taking the time to ask if I wanted to play on an amazing guitar knowing that I am not buying a single thing! Thank you Guitar Center and Chris!

Hope you enjoy reading my blogs about my Journey of finding the perfect gear! By the way I am more than a 4th of the way to getting enough money to getting an amp!!
Thanks,
Chris

Amps!!

Last Friday I went to Guitar Center! I tried 6 amps: 2 Peavey, 2 Marshall, 1 Line 6, and 1 Bogner. I will start from least favorite to best! Before I start, I played on a Marshall that was used, and kind of messed up, so I am not going to count it. Ok here we go. I did not like the Line 6. It sounded just like the Line 6 that I have. Just not what I want. Some people might like it, but it was definitely NOT what I was looking for. Next was a Peavey. I don't remember which Peavey it was, but it sounded a little too "Metal" for me. It was fun to play on, but not the sound I am looking for. Next was a Bogner. It was cool. Sounded alright. Some people might like it. Still not quite the sound I want. I played on another Peavy that was not bad, but while I was playing it I kept thinking this is not it. The main reason I liked it was that it did not have alot of effects. I don't want an amp with alot of effects. I want an amp that has a good clean sound, because I have pedals that I would run through it. The best amp I played on was a Marshall!!!! It had the heavy rock sound I want! It was perfect for me! Some people might not like it, but for me it was amazing! It was the sound I want, but way too expensive!!! I want to check out some cheaper Marshalls to see what they sound like. I can't wait to try them out!!!!!!!!

Looking for the Perfect Amp

Hi everyone in the blog world! I had an old blog that I did not update very much. I am looking at getting a new amp soon. Someone gave me the idea of blogging about my search for an amp, so I decided to try it! I am going to write about amps and gear I did like or did not like. I am not a music guru. I know that everyone might not agree with what I say, but it is my blog. I have been shopping at Guitar Center mainly. Some people do not like Guitar Center, but I love that store. I can easily say that Guitar Center has some of the best customer service! I have had great experiences at Guitar Center! I went to Guitar Center last Friday and had a blast!! I had one of the assistant managers (or I think that is what he was) help me the whole time! He was super nice! I tried 6 different stacks, some I liked! Some I did not like. I personally like Marshall amps! All I have to do is save my money! And I am working on that! Well tomorrow I will try to write about the amps and a little about me tomorrow! Please read and comment! I hope you enjoy my upcoming blogs!!
